Located in the upscale River Oaks Shopping Center, Cocody Restaurant interior design houston is not just another restaurant—it’s a destination where design, heritage, and gastronomy converge to create an unforgettable experience.

A Fusion of Cultural Roots & Art Deco Heritage

Owners Edwin and Edith Bosso drew inspiration from their homeland in the Ivory Coast—the name "Cocody" nods to a suburb in Abidjan and embodies a rich cultural narrative. They envisioned a fine-dining venue influenced by Parisian elegance and global artistry. Collaborating with Winn Wittman Architecture and Houston’s renowned Nina Magon Studio, the result balances classic Art Deco with vivid and playful opulence.

A Palette of Pinks, Golds & Whimsy

The interiors are drenched in luxurious materials and thoughtful details:

  • Curved arches and archways in polished brass

  • Venetian plaster and backlit marble

  • Pink granite accents and iridescent plastics

  • A horseshoe-shaped, champagne-brass bar inspired by Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris

These elements exude elegance and whimsy, offering a visual narrative as rich as the menu.

Illuminating Ambiance in Every Curve

Lighting is central to Cocody's design story:

  • A canopy of crystal lights reflects off a copper-clad tray ceiling, glowing like painterly lily pads

  • Over 5,000 individual lights are hidden throughout walls, stairs, and wine racks, programmed to shift ambiance through the day.

  • The private dining space features the Preciosa "Pearl Curtain"—a programmable chandelier blending sculpture with lighting art.

  • Above the bar stands a sculptural chandelier capable of supporting 5,000 pounds of liquor bottles—both functional and breathtakingly artistic.

Layout & Layout: Space that Invites & Inspires

Spanning roughly 7,000 sq ft indoors and 2,000 sq ft outdoors, Cocody features distinct zones:

  • A welcoming bar entry

  • Main dining room with plush seating

  • Playful lounge featuring a Mona Lisa with a lollipop twist

  • A chef’s tasting room offering glimpses into the kitchen

Every area tells a different part of the Cocody story, subtly unified through design details.

Conclusion: A Design That Tastes as Good as It Looks

Cocody Restaurant transcends traditional fine dining—it delivers immersive elegance, cultural storytelling, and architectural poise. Every curve, material, and light fixture blends sophisticated artistry with sensory appeal.
