Ice Kobold Axeman: Elite Variant

To safely handle an elite Ice Kobold Axeman:

    Use hit-and-run tactics.

    Force it to swing into open space while you dodge and counter.

    Ranged characters should bait the Axeman's aggression and kite it around the room, ensuring it remains isolated from other threats.

Defeating Elite versions significantly boosts your chances of acquiring rare Dark and Darker Items, such as high-quality axes, armor, or accessories. They also drop more Dark and Darker Gold, making them high-value targets for solo players and parties alike.

Ice Kobold Axeman: Nightmare Variant

The Nightmare version of the Ice Kobold Axeman is where the challenge truly escalates. In addition to enhanced damage, action speed, and health, this variant introduces a new attack: a forward shield bash.

Forward Shield Bash

    Triggered as a follow-up after a vertical or diagonal slash, or immediately after its shield is hit.

    Launches forward in a short burst to stagger and knock back players in melee range.

How to dodge the shield bash:

    Side-strafe to the right to avoid the charging hitbox.

    Alternatively, space backward quickly to force it to miss its mark.

The shield bash is a brutal addition that catches greedy attackers off guard. Many players fall to this move by attempting to punish too early or hitting the kobold's shield after a blocked attack.

If you manage to defeat a Nightmare Ice Kobold Axeman, the rewards are well worth the risk. Expect drops of dark and darker keys legendary or rare Dark and Darker Items, as well as a solid chunk of Dark and Darker Gold. These elite enemies are also commonly part of high-level contracts or dungeon objectives, making them a primary focus for experienced adventurers.
